Ranking
At Show Support we have a unique ranking system that orders how our crew are booked. Everyone has a number next to his or her name from 1 to Infinity. Duty Managers and Ops Managers then simply book the crew in order of that list.
If you are ranked number 6, you will only get offered a shift if the 5 people before you are unavailable (which is quite common).
If you have been reliable for a long period of time, your ranking will progress, meaning you will be offered more work. If we hear complaints or you are not reliable, your ranking will decrease accordingly.
It means that we will always look after our regular workers who have stuck by us. We will never overlook our regular crew in favour of people who have just arrived on the scene. If someone fits in so perfectly with the crew, and has great 'bookability', they may get a high ranking, but it is up to each individual to maintain their own ranking with their tireless dedication to duty and consummate professionalism.
Please remember if you are being offered a lot of work, and if it seems like a steep burden, it is only because you are highly ranked. It actually means we like you.
If you want any time off at any time, simply update your unavailability in your crew page of the database and you will be able to have as much of a rest as you need at any time you like for as long as you like, or as many times as you like for whatever reason you like. If you do not update your unavailability, we will consider you to be fully available for work.
One thing that will definitely affect your ranking in an adverse way would be if you blew out a gig (a No Show). That will not be tolerated, it is the ultimate cardinal sin and seen as expression of your contempt for those who would only seek to uplift you. It means you are not as good as your word, unreliable, prepared to let your fellows down in their hour of need. It is the ultimate sign of poor character. To put it simply, Show Supporters just DON'T do it. Only common loaders blow out gigs and as such can be returned to where they came from.
