From the Show Support Team

At Show Support, we know that some of the best opportunities are worth travelling for.
Recently, we sent a small detachment of two top Showies, William Woodbridge and Daniel Sunnucks, up to Corlette on the stunning Nelson Bay to support one of our valued clients as the local crew we secured for the gig were hard workers with less experience working in events than our stalwart regular Sydney crew.
SHS covered accommodation and fuel for the boys so they could enjoy the experience, not just on the tools but also to get out of Sydney for a bit and check out some new scenery.

Our client was delighted to have two experienced crew onsite and, in turn, the boys were stoked at the chance to work in a beautiful coastal location and experience a different side of the events industry with some quality time on the NSW North Coast. It worked out well for all involved.
For strategic reasons, to safeguard the relationship with our great clients, we fund these types of missions more often than you might think. SHS Ops is very grateful to those who answered the call and will pay them back in kind with favourable treatment.
Please read on to hear, in his own words, how William found the experience of travelling for work on a Showies gig.
In William’s Own Words
By William Woodbridge

I had the chance to do a bit of travel for work recently and I wanted to share a few words.
Myself and a colleague had the opportunity to go and work with one of our clients up past Newcastle for a 4 day run in beautiful Port Stephens with paid accommodation. We took that opportunity and had a great time away. We had 4 days in an Italian style villa accommodation right near the water, all arranged and covered by our wonderful company, Show Support.

Our stay was 5 mins away from where we were working and right in the middle of the scenic beach front of Salamander Bay. Beautiful views, fresh air and the sound of the water was how we spent our downtime between jobs.
It was a work trip but it felt more like a getaway honestly.
Given the chance I’m sure we would both jump at the next given opportunity to do something similar, I think most people would.

A big thank you to our team for helping organise this and also a big thanks to the client who made it all a pleasure instead of a job.
Can’t wait to do it all again.
See you on the next one.
