Adam Harris, known throughout the industry as ‘Haggis’, has been a staunch Showie for over seven years. At a recent event attended by senior management and SHSMD, Dave Neil, Adam explained the reason for his longevity with Australia’s premier crewing agency.
“The best thing about working for Show Support would have to be my fellow Crew Members. Put simply, Show Support has the best crew in the nation.” With a contemplative expression barely concealed by a beard that would put Eric Bloodaxe to shame, Senior Crew Chief Harris finished the thought, “… by a country mile!”
The industry veteran nodded vehemently and proffered his rationale: “Good money and good people. That’s what it’s all about! Doing a good job, getting paid well at the end of the day, knowing you can work a 40-hour week and still have money left over to spend on life’s luxuries: all great things to have in the back of your mind.”
Those who’ve worked with Adam describe him as a warm, funny and intelligent person who understands the importance of putting in 100% on every shift.
“Show Support pays really well, and it’s much appreciated. Once you work your way to the top of the rankings by being reliable, always carrying your tools and wearing your uniform correctly, Show Support returns the favour financially.”
When asked about his most memorable gig, Adam replied, “Festivals are great, you get to see bands and large scale logistics. Touring with Cirque De Soleil was different. Every gig is unique, they all have their own little perks.”
Reflecting on what motivates him, Haggis said, “When the client comes over at the end of a gig and shows their appreciation that it all came together, in sometimes difficult circumstances; that’s when we walk away as a united crew, with our heads held high. That is what we work toward, and that is what we regularly achieve.”
Even though Adam recently married his long-time love, the beautiful Emma Harris, he still holds dear his Show Support extended family.
